Nursery Decor and Inspiration

This is a favorite nursery of mine I saw while looking for inspiration online.  I love the colors and how the designer used different textures and patterns to pull the room together.

Here are the ideas I have and what I plan on using for Jace's nursery!

Wall Color: I love blue/grey paint so I definitely want to use that in the nursery.  The color is Ozone by Behr.

Crib Skirt Fabric: LOVE Chevron prints, especially this one with all of the colors for the nursery.  I want to keep the bedding simple, so I'll only be using a fitted sheet and crib skirt.  The fabric I chose is French Linen ZigZag Chevron by Spoonflower.

Curtains: I haven't found any striped curtains that I like, so I'll be making my own with big grey and white stripes.

Crib: I fell in love with the "antiquey" look of this crib.  The only problem is that they don't make matching furniture to go with it.  Oh well--I had plenty of furniture to re-purpose anyways.  I couldn't find it in a store but bought mine from Target online when they were having a sale!  Graco Shelby Classic 4-in-1 Convertible Crib Cappuccino

Dresser/Changing Table: Mom and Dad are giving us an old dresser I plan to redo that looks similar to the one I have pictured.  I figured using the dresser as a changing table would save space and work out a little better in the long run.  It is on my list of project to-dos, and once it's finished I'll have a post up!

Wire Basket Storage: I'd like to use wire baskets as storage on top of the dresser to hold all of my diaper changing goodies.  The craft store will more than likely have tons of different sizes to accommodate what I need them for!

Clothes Hamper: I registered for a similar wicker basket at Target to use as a clothes hamper.  Babies clothes are smaller than big people clothes so I didn't think I'd need a regular sized hamper.

Bookshelf/Toy Storage: Another wonderful piece I snagged from Mom and Dad's that they no longer use.  The one pictured is not my exact piece but looks almost identical.  I have to paint and glaze the piece I got however because it is pink, and as we all know, pink will not go well in our little boys nursery!  I'll have a post on that project as well once it is finished.

Shelf Storage: I picked up two of these milk crates at Target one day.  I plan to use them to store toys, blankets, or whatever else I need them for and will use the extra space on the shelves for books, etc.

Table Lamp: I need to find an old lamp to re-purpose, and when I do I want to wrap the base in twine (rather than the shade.)  I couldn't find a picture of what I have in my head so I went with the next closest thing just to have a picture.

Fabric: I love all of these neutral prints I found online!  Not sure if I'll be using these exact ones, but I'll at least try to find some fabric very similar to use for pillows and other projects through the nursery.  All of the prints shown (minus the burlap) are from Spoonflower.

Windsor Rocker: HUGE thank you to our good friend, Mom and Dad's neighbor, and my wonderful bridal photographer Sandy Keys for gifting us an old rocker her family no longer needed.  It is going to work perfectly in the nursery and I can't wait to share with everyone what it looks like!  The picture I have posted is obviously not the rocker, but something a wee bit similar.

End Table: Yet another furniture re-purpose project from Mom and Dad's basement.  Mom got a beat up end table from a yard sale for a few bucks years ago and I started to refinish it then, but never got past the sanding part.  It looks very similar to the one I have pictured.  I'm in the process of redoing it and will have a post on it up soon!
