Floors, furniture, appliances!

The floors are down, the furniture is moved in, and the appliances are hooked up.  We are slowly unpacking boxes and starting to make the house look more like a "home."  We've been staying there since last Thursday but are by no means "moved in."  Last night Anthony got the crib put together.  It has been killing me since I bought it a few months ago that it had to stay in the box until we found a place to live.  I was so tickled to be able to get it together and start working on the nursery!

I finally got most of my kitchen stuff unpacked today and out of the living room.  It bugs me to have all of the clutter even though I know we are in the process of moving.  I got the majority of the nursery put together as well with Mom's help.  The rest of the house is just sorta pieced together, and eventually things will get hung on the wall.  My Dad's next project is to make a headboard out of the shutters we used at the wedding to display our pictures.  I can't wait to see how it looks.

Here are a few new pictures of the progress.

We have floors.. almost!

In the midst of my migraines and whatever "cold" Anthony has had for the past two weeks, the progress on the house hasn't stopped.  Things have been really hectic lately and we truly covet your prayers for our health and Jace's, as well as all of the other chaos going on around us.  We are thankful to have such loving friends and family willing to help in any way.

I had to stop by the house this morning to let the floor guys in and was able to sneak a peek at what they accomplished yesterday.  They should be finished up by lunch today and at some point tomorrow we can start moving in since the appliances are being delivered Friday!  Mom and Dad are on their way to Virginia as I type to pick up furniture from my Grandparent's house.

Although the "before" pictures of the house may seem somewhat, gross--the pictures don't even do the actual thing justice. I love looking at the "before" and "after" just to see how different the place truly does look (and feel, and smell, etc.) :)

Here are a few pictures I snapped this morning.  Yes, the floors need to be cleaned and yes, some of the rooms are only halfway done, but at least you can see what they look like so far!

More updates as they come!

House Progress--Paint!

Just wanted to get in a quick update on progress at the new house.  Everything has been cleaned really well and the old floors are up, ready for the new laminate to go in.  We actually got a call today saying the floors are in (we had to special order them) and we can now schedule a day to have them installed!  The painters started last week and should be done by this Wednesday!  Even though the painting isn't done and there are no floors in the house right now, it still looks so much better already!  Here are a few before and afters.  Keep in mind some trim may not be done, etc--this is just to let you see the colors (sort of.)

**The only paint in there for now is just around the trim, but I'll still show ya!

Aside from all of the changes going on inside, plenty is going on outside as well.  Anthony was intent on ripping up those hideous bushes at the front that practically covered half of the house.  So far him and Nate have gotten a good bit gone.

I'll have more updates as we continue to get things done!  Thank you to all of our friends and family who have helped so much with getting things done around the house.  I don't know how we'd be able to get all of this done in time without you all!

Our House!

We finally closed on our house and have started cleaning, ripping up floors, and cleaning some more!  We can't wait to get the new floors down and some color on the walls!  I will do a more detailed post later, but for now here are some of the "before" pictures from yesterday!
